Distance Learning - Premium IOLs

 
Premium IOLs are important to cataract surgeons because they offer another option for patients who would prefer not to depend on eyeglasses following surgery. Significantly, this option is not covered by Medicare, so it’s important to understand how that works in practice. This 15 minute eLearning program discusses the reimbursement concepts that led to current Medicare policies for astigmatism-correcting and presbyopia-correcting IOLs. Coding, claims submission, and financial waiver forms are also discussed. Lastly, a strategy for developing charges for noncovered services is explained. Review questions are presented at the conclusion of the course.
