2009 Medicare Deductible and Premiums

CMS announced in a press release published Friday, September 19, 2008 that the Medicare Part B deductible will NOT change in 2009. Beneficiaries have experienced an increase each year for the past four years, but will find that their Part B deductible remains at $135.00 for 2009.

In addition, the 2009 Part B premium remains unchanged from 2008 and will continue to be $96.40 a month. Medicare beneficiaries with taxable income greater than $85,000 for an individual or $170,000 for a couple will pay higher Medicare Part B premiums, as they have since 2007.
