Corrections to ASC Fee Schedule

The February 22, 2008 Federal Register (Vol 73, No 36) corrects information published in the final rule on payments for hospital outpatient departments (HOPD) and ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) published November 2007. The correction also takes into account the updated physician fee schedule published in early January 2008. The revised ASC payment system takes into account the physician fee schedule for some office based procedures. Therefore, some ASC facility fees required a correction from the original publication.

For example, the initial facility payment rates published for intravitreal injection (67028) was $90.21; it has been adjusted to $82.79. Laser trabeculoplasty (65855) initially published at $148.54 has been adjusted to $132.87. These are national amounts; local values vary based on wage indices.

These adjustments are retroactive to January 1, 2008.
