Medicare Advantage Plans Fraud, Waste and Abuse Training Requirement – Removed

In the fall of 2009, physicians and suppliers participating in Medicare Advantage plans were instructed to complete “Fraud Waste and Abuse Training” with a requirement for annual training programs.

The Federal Register dated April 15, 2010, Volume 75, Number 72, eliminates the need for physicians and suppliers enrolled in Medicare to complete this training. Medicare fee-for-service enrolled physicians and suppliers are considered “trained” in fraud, waste and abuse by virtue of their enrollment.
