Physician Fee Schedule Updated

Today, President Obama signed into Law the Preservation of Access to Care for Medicare Beneficiaries and Pension Relief Act of 2010. This law gives a 2.2% update to the Physician Fee Schedule from June 1, 2010 – November 30, 2010.

CMS reports that claims processed with the 21.3% reduction for June services will be reprocessed with the new fee schedule. Do not resubmit claims paid at the reduced rate. They expect the new fee schedule to be up and running by July 1.

Unfortunately this is not a long term solution and will need continued attention to develop a permanent fix for the end of the year and the future.
