Physicians should expect more scrutiny, quality measure discussions, code changes in 2013
U.S. physicians should expect closer oversight, particularly of intravitreal injections and electronic health records, along with a continuing discussion of ASC quality measures and Medicare codes, a speaker said here.
Increased scrutiny of intravitreal injections will take place because they have continued to experience dramatic growth and knocked cataract surgery from the No. 1 position among ophthalmic procedures, Kevin J. Corcoran, COE, CPC, FNAO, OSN Practice Management Board Member, said at Hawaiian Eye 2012. Physicians also should expect reduced reimbursements, he said.
