PQRS – New Measures Group in 2016
Many cataract surgeons have taken advantage of reporting the cataract measures group to successfully participate in the PQRS program. A Measures Group is a subset of four or more measures that have a particular clinical condition or focus in common. In 2016, a new measures group exists, providing an opportunity for others to utilize the measures group approach to PQRS reporting.
The Diabetic Retinopathy Measures Group was added for 2016 PQRS reporting. The table below includes the required measures to report this measures group. Successful reporting of this measures group relies on reporting all measures for twenty patients; at least eleven must be Medicare fee-for-service patients. Reporting must be done through a registry.
Corcoran Consulting Group will publish an updated PQRS monograph in the near future with details on various measures, reporting options, and the value-based payment modifier.
